Antonio Monda, professor at New York University's Film and Television Department, closes La Casa di The Human Safety Net's MovieLab, Sconfinamenti dello sguardo (MovieLab, Boundary Crossings) with a lectio magistralis dedicated to the masterpieces of Francis Ford Coppola and Luchino Visconti, analysed through their most famous sequences and based on the novels by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa and Mario Puzo. The original casting choices, the contrasts, the background, the secrets and the ingenious solutions that led to the creation of two milestones in the history of cinema will take us on a fascinating journey through great cinema and, at the same time, into the personalities of the protagonists: two patriarchs in the autumn of their lives, in a rapidly changing world, amid obvious differences and unexpected similarities.
