Vietnam

Early childhood development in Vietnam has been the government’s strategic focus and the country has achieved impressive progress over the past two decades.

However, there are still gaps and challenges in childcare and protection which impedes the children’s comprehensive development such as domestic violent punishments, lack of parenting knowledge and experience, etc.

Such reality brings The Human Safety Net Vietnam and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) together to jointly develop and implement “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” (Born Children, Born Parents), a parenting program that aims to equip parents, grandparents and guardians of children aged 0-6 years with essential parenting knowledge, experience and skills to help children grow to their full potential in the loving environment  of their family. The program extends its reach to the community with practical and useful content via innovative formats.

The program focuses on 3 topics: children’s health, behaviors and intelligence and is delivered via local workshops at selected kindergartens across Vietnam with volunteered facilitators being Generali Vietnam’s trained employees and online educational sitcom series.

The program

The program targets to reach thousands of parents, children and kindergarten teachers at local workshops and millions more  via digital platforms each year.

  • Jointly developed by THSN Vietnam and the NFVC, the program was launched in June 2020 and has been delivered to kindergarten’s parents and children in Bac Giang and Thua Thien Hue provinces, and digitally via an online parenting sitcom series.
