The first Movielab of The Home of The Human Safety Net features director Suranga Deshapriya Katugampala with his film ‘Per un figlio’ (For a Son), a story, set in northern Italy, of the relationship between a Sri Lankan immigrant mother and her son. A difficult relationship made of love, but also of silences and indifference. An example of transcultural cinema that traverses everyday life, silences, and repeated gestures to recount the complex issue of integration and social inclusion. Discussions with the director and performer Francesco Della Puppa, lecturer in sociology at Ca‘ Foscari University, and students from the Polis-Social Hub association at Ca’ Foscari.
