Book Presentation: “Murano. A Guide to the Island”
Saturday, September 19, 2026, 5:30 p.m.
Michela Scibilia, an expert in Venetian craftsmanship and a visual designer, presents her new book dedicated to Murano: an introduction to the island’s history and the glassmaking tradition that has defined it and shaped its identity, the result of in-depth research that reflects all the workshops still active and in production today.
The presentation, organized in collaboration with the El Felze association, will take place during the 2026 edition of Homo Faber and will feature a conversation between the author and Maestro Lino Tagliapietra, an independent artist, alongside other prominent figures from the island: master glassmakers and entrepreneurs who are shaping Murano today, as well as some of the youngest glass artisans who are just beginning their journey in this field.
Before the presentation, all attendees are invited to visit the interactive exhibition “A World of Potential” and the exhibition “We Rise by Lifting Others” by Marinella Senatore.
