Presentation of “Sorelle della Luna” by Alberta Basaglia and Giulietta Raccanelli
Wednesday, 21 October, h 17:00
Alberta Basaglia, a psychologist, and Giulietta Raccanelli, a journalist, present their new co-authored novel, Sorelle della Luna: a journey between past and present through the stories of women who have left their mark on the centuries through their writing.
At the heart of the book are the 124 letters that Virginia Galilei, who became Sister Maria Celeste, wrote to her father, Galileo, from her enclosed convent. Rediscovered during lockdown by two friends and “story hunters,” the letters become the starting point for a journey through memory, friendship, and complicity, intertwining Virginia’s story with those of the two authors.
A story of words and connections, where letters, emails, and messages express the desire not to lose touch, and the possibility of feeling close even when we are far apart.
