Scientific research shows that when adults and children read together, building that special bond that comes from shared reading, it contributes positively to young children’s cognitive, linguistic, and emotional development.
That’s why the Centro per la Salute del Bambino, one of the NGOs supported by The Human Safety Net as part of the “For Families” program, has created the national program “Born to Read.” Fantastic stories of courage and change are here to be read together: boys, girls, and parents.
Our volunteers are ready to offer children and their caregivers a special moment of closeness and connection through reading aloud in a soft voice.
“Born to Read” books can also be found in our library and at The Human Safety Net Bookstore in St. Mark’s Square.
We’ll start with a snack for everyone at 11:00 a.m., and then, after the reading, you’ll have the chance to stay for lunch together, with the special menu for families.
