Screening of the documentary “Ernesto “Tito” Canal”
Sunday, 18 October, h 17:30–19:00
As part of the second edition of Festa dei Veneziani in Piazza, an initiative by Associazione P.E.R. Venezia Consapevole ETS, the Home of The Human Safety Net will host a screening of the documentary “Ernesto ‘Tito’ Canal: The Man Who Rewrote the Origins of the Venetian Lagoon”, directed by Pierandrea Gagliardi and Marino Rossi.
The 70-minute documentary retraces the life and some of the most significant archaeological discoveries of Ernesto “Tito” Canal, through a previously unpublished video interview recorded by Pierandrea Gagliardi in 2012. A story that takes us across the waters of the Lagoon, exploring the insights, expeditions, and dreams of a man who helped rewrite its history.
A tribute to Tito Canal and to those who accompanied him on his journey, learning to “see with the heart” before seeing with their eyes.
In addition, on 16 and 17 October at 5:00 pm, Festa dei Veneziani in Piazza comes to the Procuratie with two guided tours, offering the opportunity to discover the history of one of the most iconic buildings in St. Mark’s Square.
