Open Studios: Alessandra Micolucci
Tuesday 15 April, 5.30 pm
As part of Atelier Aperti 2026, the Venezia da Vivere project that opens studios and craft workshops to the public, under the patronage of the City of Venice and the Ministry of Made in Italy, The Home of The Human Safety Net welcomes sustainable designer Alessandra Micolucci.
The theme of this year’s event is “In the Mode”: an active mode in which design, material and gesture come together. During the event, Alessandra will explain the methods she uses for plant-based and natural dyeing of garments. Alessandra Micolucci hand-dyes organic and natural fabrics in her studio in Cannaregio: nettle, hemp and linen take on colour through natural dyes obtained by fermenting and drying plant materials. Every garment is created entirely by her own hands, using materials sourced from Italian producers of natural yarns.
