What's on 2026

On 12 September, ‘About Women’ returns to The Home of The Human Safety Net. Now in its ninth year, this initiative stems from a desire to focus attention on sensitive issues through a gender lens. This year, the event will explore online violence and how the internet – originally conceived as a space for dialogue and participation – can, for many women, become a treacherous place. Expert Silvia Semenzin will discuss the phenomenon, in conversation with Barbara Strappato, a senior officer with the State Police. Speakers will include Diego Dalla Palma, an entrepreneur who will talk about his own experience as well as the role of women online; author Lally Masia; and MEP Alessandra Moretti. Marino Smiderle, editor-in-chief of Il Giornale di Vicenza, will moderate the debate.
