Venetian by Choice

Let's meet Rosanna Marcato, born in Friuli but Venetian by choice since 1969. A social worker, she has been working on the field since the 1970s to develop innovative service models to support women, families, and migrants. In 1994, in collaboration with CIR and the Veneto Region, she opened the first regional information desk for refugees and organized the first welcoming services. This meeting with Rosanna Marcato is with a true pioneer, passionate and tireless, and an empathetic collector of stories. About herself, she said: “In these narratives, I encountered the ‘evil of the world’ and tried to combine the needs of the body with those of the soul, giving depth and respect to the experiences of each person and offering, through a territory-based network, resources and opportunities for social and work integration.”
