A special event with our MovieLab, dedicated to schools on World Human Rights Day. MovieLab is a series organised by The Human Safety Net and curated by Francesco della Puppa, professor of Sociology at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. The title of this year's edition is Sguardi sul reale. Il cinema della realtà and is dedicated to cinema that becomes encounter, community and responsibility. The film we are offering to upper secondary school pupils is Behind Venice Luxury. It is a 2017 film by director M. Amin Wahidi that tells the story of a Hazara refugee in Italy who, despite the countless difficulties he encountered along the way, managed to become a successful entrepreneur. It is a beautiful and moving story of resilience, redemption, determination and empowerment, in which the protagonist's belief in his potential and his determination to continue to develop it, even in difficult circumstances, made all the difference.
