The Quartets of Joy

String quartet concerto

The Home of the Human Safety Net is hosting a new event in the “Values in Music” series, in collaboration with the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Music in Venice. This time, we will listen to the string quartet “Quartetto Leporello,” composed of Mirella Bonini and Maela Dal Mas on violins, Riccardo Losito on viola, and Giuseppe Gi Young Fiorin on cello.
The program includes two masterpieces born from luminous moments in the lives of their composers: Arnold Schoenberg's Quartet No. 0, written when he was only 22 years old, vibrant with enthusiasm and creative freshness; and Antonín Dvořák's Quartet No. 12 “American,” composed in New York during a period of serenity and renewed inspiration.
Two works that, despite belonging to different musical worlds, convey the same vital energy: that of discovery and the joy of sharing music as a universal language.
