Interview with Ahmad Sufian Bayram, on refugee business integration

The social entrepreneur Ahmad Sufian Bayram talks about challenges and solutions to refugees’ entrepreneurship

“Given the right circumstances, refugees can contribute to the local society and economy of the host country” it’s the clear reminder of Ahmad Sufian Bayram, social entrepreneur, author of “Entrepreneurship in Exile” report, talking at the second edition of The Human Safety Net NetWorks Event in Venice. Entrepreneurship in Exile is built on data from a study examining hundred Syrian refugees’ entrepreneurs’ views and experiences to spot the light on them, the challenges it faces, the potential it has and the uncertain future that lies ahead.
Bayram’s recommendations to support refugees’ entrepreneurship: build supportive environments, introduce entrepreneurs to local business environments and key players in startup ecosystems, support them to get access to fund and banking services and provide them with supportive regulatory policies.
