Every third Sunday of the month, volunteers will share gentle, low-voice readings that spark curiosity and wonder, while promoting the values of inclusion, empathy, and discovery. Before diving into the stories, families can share a snack together to kick-start the afternoon.
Families can also find Nati per Leggere books in The Human Safety Net’s store, ready to take home and continue the magic of reading together.
Developed in collaboration with the Associazione Culturale Pediatri, the Associazione Italiana Biblioteche, and the Centro per la Salute delle Bambine e dei Bambini, Nati per Leggere is active across all Italy. The programme offers free reading activities for families with children up to 6 years old — a simple yet powerful way to support children’s cognitive development and strengthen the bond between parents and their little ones.
Reading together from an early age is one of the most beautiful gifts a parent can give. It helps children feel loved and connected, creating precious moments of closeness and joy. Shared reading nurtures their curiosity and imagination, helping them discover new worlds and develop empathy through stories and characters.
Every reading moment enriches children’s language and concentration skills, while offering a calm and comforting ritual — especially before bedtime. Familiar stories read again and again become part of a child’s world, while new books open doors to fresh adventures and ideas. Pictures in the pages spark conversations, questions, and laughter, helping children explore their emotions and make sense of the world around them.
Most importantly, reading together helps children grow — not just cognitively, but emotionally and socially. It’s a simple act that strengthens the parent–child relationship, builds confidence, and fosters a lifelong love of books and learning.
Join us every third Sunday of the month at The Home of The Human Safety Net and let stories open the door to imagination, connection, and growth!
