The Human Safety Net’s 2024 Global Challenge, concluded with a record-breaking 558,000 euros raised across 25 countries. This significant achievement marks a considerable increase from the 450,000 euros raised in 2023, demonstrating the collective effort and dedication of our global community.
With around 5,000 participants engaging in over 200 challenges, from sports and cultural events to social activities, the funds raised will have a substantial impact on giving additional support to 16,000 children and parents involved in The Human Safety Net’s For Families Programme.
Bellow are a few examples of the activities the donations will support.
Global Challenge 2024. A new record to benefit more than 16.000 children and parents
France: Enriching Family Lives with Cultural and Leisure Activities
In France, the funds will provide 2,000 children and parents leisure time and cultural activities in over 10 locations. These activities, co-created by parents, will offer families unique experiences such as museum visits and seaside trips. This year-round support aims to strengthen family bonds and create enriching learning opportunities for children.
Bulgaria: Bringing Quality Care and Educational Resources
In Bulgaria, the raised funds will extend quality care and professional support to 500 children and their families living in rural areas. Toy libraries stocked with cognitive development toys will be accessible to the public, offering essential educational resources that contribute to children's growth and well-being.
Malaysia: Ensuring Early Education for Children
In Malaysia, donations will fund an early education programme for over one hundred children, operating five days a week throughout the year. This initiative will support parents during the workweek and ensure children receive quality education, better preparing them for their future.
Italy: Exploring and Learning Together
Italy will see cultural and educational visits organized for 500 families from 16 Family Centres. These visits will allow children to explore new parts of the city, broadening their horizons and developing new skills and knowledge. At the same time, these shared experiences will strengthen family bonds.
Czech Republic: Summer Camps for Personal Development
In the Czech Republic, more than 150 disadvantaged children and their families will attend a two-week summer camp. The camp will offer activities designed to foster independence, self-control, determination, and resilience, providing unforgettable personal development experiences.
