More than 500 refugee-led startups created in six years!

The Human Safety Net has reached a significant milestone in our mission to support refugee integration through work and entrepreneurship. Since our inception in 2017, we have facilitated the creation of over 500 refugee-led startups, contributing to a thousand new jobs across Europe.

Our Mission

The Human Safety Net is a global movement of people helping people. Our mission is to unlock the potential of individuals living in vulnerable circumstances, enabling them to transform the lives of their families and communities. Our programs support vulnerable families with young children (0-6 years old) and integrate refugees through work and entrepreneurship.

The For Refugees Programme

Our For Refugees Programme equips migrants and refugees with the tools necessary to become successful entrepreneurs or receive vocational training to aid their inclusion in the local labor market and their host countries overall.

Programme Highlights

Geographical Reach: Active in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Luxembourg (since May 2023).

Entrepreneurship Support: 254 startups launched in France, 287 in Germany, and 14 in Switzerland.

Direct Economic Impact: Creation of a thousand jobs, fostering economic independence for refugees.

Challenges and Solutions

Refugees face numerous barriers to economic inclusion when they arrive in a new country. Entrepreneurship offers a viable path to economic independence and the realization of personal and professional goals. The Human Safety Net's Refugee Programme provides comprehensive support, including workshops, training, coaching, business development, and networking opportunities.

Key Partnerships

Our success is bolstered by our collaboration with 10 partners across four countries, including NGOs and social enterprises focused on entrepreneurship, professional training, and labor inclusion.

France: SINGA, La Ruche

Switzerland: Capacity Zurich

Germany: FITT, LeetHub St. Pauli, BuergerStiftung Aachen, Social Impact, KIZ Sinnova

This achievement underscores the potential of refugee entrepreneurs to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their host communities.

Looking Ahead

We remain committed to expanding our support and reaching even more refugees, providing them with the opportunities and resources they need to build successful, sustainable businesses. As we continue to grow, we invite more partners and supporters to join us in this impactful journey.
