Recognition for “A World of Potential” in Venice

Over 40,000 visitors, high-level events and five awards make the opening the Home of The Human Safety Net a success and set a promising start for 2023 activities

On April 13, 2022, the Home of The Human Safety Net in the Procuratie Vecchie on St Mark’s Square, in the heart of Venice, opened to the public for the first time in 500 years.

“A World of Potential”, the interactive exhibition inside the Home, represents the mission of The Human Safety Net to unlock people’s potential as a movement of people helping people. It is an interactive journey to discover human potential through a unique set of character strengths that help us positively impact the community.

So far, over 40,000 visitors have taken the journey and learnt about the social impact of The Human Safety Net programmes and how they can take action in the movement, for example, by choosing the project to support with half of their tickets.
It is also an open space for The Human Safety Net partners to meet and exchange in the co-working space or participate in or host events in The Hall, its large auditorium. In just a few months after opening, the Home has become a catalyst for the ESG agenda in a city that aims to be the «World Capital of Sustainability», hosting events such as Ashoka Visionary Programme, Italy’s International Organisation for Migration & Europa Regions regional workshop, the presentations of Open Your Art event and the launch of Venice’s events dedicated to childhood rights “Diritti sui Diritti”. The last months of last year saw The Home as the venue - among other events for Generali people and other corporations - of the European launch of the UNDP’s Human Development Report, the Centre For Entrepreneurs annual event, and in November The Human Safety Net partners own annual summit, NetWorks.

A World of Potential interactive exhibition has also been recognised as Italy’s Hidden Gem in the Tiquets Re3markable Venue Award and won the Red Dot Design Award 2022 in Communication Design, besides receiving a Special Mention at the German Design Award 2023, two Honorable Mentions at IDA International Design Award 2022 and Best on Archilovers 2022 prize.
Many additional events and new activities are ready to be launched in 2023. Stay tuned and in the meantime, take the opportunity to visit on your own, make an enquiry to organise an event, and discover your potential at A World of Potential.
