The month of May marked the kick-off of The Human Safety Net in Luxembourg to support refugees in the Grand Duchy and to accompany them on their professional and entrepreneurial journey, thanks to a partnership with Microlux, as a joint initiative of Generali Luxembourg, Generali Employee Benefit, and Generali Investments.
Since 2016 as the first microfinance institution for Luxembourg, Microlux has been an NGO that supports the right of economic initiative and backs up business starters, active entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs who want to create their businesses to improve their position and become financially independent.
Every year, a large number of refugees are forced to flee their countries in search of a better life. Despite having the skills, dynamism, and resilience necessary to become entrepreneurs, some of those who arrive in Luxembourg face numerous obstacles, such as language barriers, different regulations and procedures than those in their countries of origin, and a loss of network. These hurdles prevent them from creating their own businesses or even finding employment.
With the synergy of the three entities of Generali based in Luxembourg, our mission today is to help these entrepreneurs overcome their difficulties and succeed in their projects, once again demonstrating our employees' commitment to solidarity and social inclusion.
