A global award in India for supporting and improving quality of education

The award recognizes the activities For Families programme in India, which has so far reached 10,000 parents and children.

On the occasion of World CSR Day last week, The Human Safety Net India was the winner of the 'Support and Improvement in quality of education” at the Global CSR Excellence & Leadership Awards.

Since 2018, The Human Safety Net in India has reached out to 10,000+ among mothers, fathers and children living in vulnerable contexts in the regions of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand & Telangana. The programme started with the support of two local NGO partners, United Way Mumbai and Pratham. Save the Children India as a third partner recently joined the network to amplify our reach in the country.

In India, The Human Safety Net now supports parent and child activities in about 50 typical rural childcare centres called Anganwadis with NGO partner United Way Mumbai.

With Pratham, they provide parent engagement programmes to empower parents, especially mothers, to play a more active role in their children's development and their developmental outcomes through influencing the household environment.

The project - targeted to children aged 0-3 years and 3-5 years, their parents and caregivers - aims to achieve their age-appropriate milestones by focusing on their cognitive, social, physical, and psychological development.
