Visioni che trasformano. Gli sguardi del possibile.

INVOLVED! MovieLab for Sustainable ChangeMakers

MovieLab is The Human Safety Net’s film festival dedicated to cinema that makes an impact, raising awareness, fostering empathy and promoting shared responsibility around issues of social inclusion. Films that do not merely depict, but raise questions, invite the sharing of perspectives and restore dignity to stories. The film series, held under the patronage of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, is curated by Francesco Della Puppa, Professor of Sociology at Ca’ Foscari, and forms part of the INVOLVED! InnovationLab for Sustainable ChangeMakers project.

Transformative Visions: Perspectives on the Possible is the title of this year’s edition, which draws inspiration from the values of the interactive exhibition A World of Potential. The festival invites audiences to explore the many ways in which individuals and communities imagine, build and make change possible. Documentaries and observational cinema, socially conscious fiction, and hybrid works that blur the boundaries between narrative and observation make up a programme that focuses on the human and relational resources capable of bringing about transformation. Each screening is designed as a standalone experience – accessible and comprehensive – yet at the same time forms part of a broader reflection on humanity’s capacity to tackle challenges, turn limitations into opportunities and create environments in which people can realise their potential.

Before the screenings, the audience is invited to visit the interactive exhibition A World of Potential and the temporary exhibition We Rise by Lifting Others by Marinella Senatore.

At the end of each session, the directors discuss their films, engage in dialogue with the audience and share their perspectives.

The MovieLab programme has been accredited by the Ordine degli Assistenti Sociali del Veneto, and attendance at least 80 per cent of the sessions guarantees 18 training credits and 6 credits relating to professional ethics and regulatory requirements.
