Marinella Senatore (born 1977, Cava de’ Tirreni, Italy) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the aesthetic and political potential of collective processes, shared rituals, and participatory forms of cultural production.
Her practice spans installation, tapestry, collage, film, and collective performance, unfolds through community-based projects that activate public space through choreography, sound, architecture, and light. In 2012 she founded The School of Narrative Dance (SOND), a nomadic and free educational platform grounded in empowerment, self-education, and collective storytelling, which has engaged more than 8 million participants across over 23 countries.

Her work has been exhibited and commissioned internationally by major institutions including Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, Kunsthaus Zürich, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Berlinische Galerie, Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, MAXXI – National Museum of 21st Century Arts, and Moderna Museet, among others. She has participated in major international biennials including the Venice Biennale, São Paulo Biennial, and Manifesta 12, and has undertaken residencies at ISCP, New York, Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin and American Academy in Rome among others. Her works are held in major public and private collections worldwide.
