The Café
The Café, run by illycaffè, is an open place where people can connect over good food and drink. It's a warm and welcoming space where residents, tourists, NGOs, volunteers, and partners can take a break, relax, and socialize.
A rich and diversified offer covers every moment of the day: from the early morning, to start with the aroma of the unique illy 100% Arabica blend - in the Classico, Intenso and Forte roasts - and small pastries, to have a lunch break that includes an original proposal of salads and savoury snacks, up to the evening, with a wide proposal of cocktails.
The menu includes typical local dishes, reinterpreted with a modern twist and with high-quality ingredients, such as Buranei and Zaeti biscuits, Focaccia Gourmet with radicchio and creamed salt cod or the selection of Venetian cicchetti (small snacks).
The Café also houses a library of books to refresh minds – food for thought on issues such as early childhood development, social inclusion, and social entrepreneurship. Its library will also include inspiring biographies, children's books and titles on Venice's history and artistic heritage.
The library has been curated by Bibliothèques Sans Frontières (BSF), a humanitarian nonprofit, and will be the first of its kind in Venice. The library will host up to 3,000 books in five languages, a high-quality content for visitors to enjoy.
