Magnificent Venice

The exhibition in Paris brings the visitors back in time, to the "Dazzling Venice!" times of the Serenissima Republic

Paintings, decorative arts, sculptures, theatre, and music: everything comes together for the first time in Paris to celebrate the effervescence of the artistic scene in the 18th century Venice.

The exhibition "Dazzling Venice. Venice, the Arts, and Europe in the 18th Century", lets the visitors enter the enchanted atmosphere of the Venetian golden age through the works of Tiepolo, Canaletto, Francesco Guardi, Pietro Longhi, Vivaldi and many others and through a series of theatrical performances and live musicals and special night event. Generali France has supported this exhibition with enthusiasm: The Human Safety Net and the project for the redevelopment of the area have been given a dedicated showroom at the end of the visitors’ journey, where the new video of the global movement are displayed together with detailed descriptions of the project.

"Generali has always had a close relationship with Venice", said the Generali Group CEO Philippe Donnet. The Company opened its first offices in Venice in 1832, just months after its foundation in Trieste, in the Procuratie Vecchie in Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square). Today, Generali is giving the Procuratie Vecchie a new life to give The Human Safety Net a home: it will become a vibrant hub to advance ideas that transform the lives of families and communities around the world, an open door to the world that invites people inside to explore, seek inspiration, exchange ideas, and take collective action. The project in the St Mark’s area also includes the restoration of the Royal Gardens, which will return to their former glory, and the reopening of the passage through the courtyards that will reconnect the lagoon to St. Mark's Square.

The exhibition is open from 26 September 2018 to 21 January 2019.
