My children deserve the best

Discover the story of Ana, a mother of two children, who joined our Program for Families in Indonesia and positively transformed her life and the future of her children.

My name is Ana Mariana. I am 33 years old. I am married and I have two children, 12 years old and 6 years old. My husband is a warehouse worker.

When Faqih was a young boy, I asked him to go to school. He refused it; he wasn’t brave enough to be left alone. One day I took him to the Saturday Academy. At first, he didn’t want to go. But I was surprised, he enjoyed it so much. After that, he was brave enough to enter kindergarten school.

Different story to Alfi, his sister. She changed so much, positively. After joining the Saturday Academy, she decided to volunteer in the program, helping other people.

This program helped me a lot. Now, we get better understanding about how to take care of our children. Which I did not know before. I was also able to save money and open a small ‘warung’ (food stall) to help my husband.

In the future, I wish to do a lot more, to make my ‘warung’ grow bigger. I want to see more and more visitors to my ‘warung’ buying the food I prepare.

Above all, I want a better education for my children, they deserve the best and must be higher than us, the parents. Please don’t be like me, a grown up with a lack of education.

Ana received support from our partner Hope Worldwide Indonesia. After joining the “Saturday Academy” Program she was able to positively transform her life and the future of her children.
