Ca’ Foscari and University of Padua Students working on UNDP’s Human Development Report at The Home Human Safety Net

Students from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the University of Padua convened at the Procuratie Vecchie, the Home of The Human Safety Net, in Venice, to collaborate on the next UNDP Human Development Report (HDR).

At the Procuratie Vecchie, the students engaged with senior leaders from Generali and UNDP, as well as with academics, to produce literature reviews, case studies, and policy proposals for the upcoming Human Development Report. The next edition of the Human Development Report will focus on imagining digital futures, exploring how digitalisation, including artificial intelligence, impacts human development. The report aims to understand how digitalisation can amplify or mitigate inequalities, reshape political landscapes, and redefine economic structures.

The students also participated in "Involved! Gamification for Sustainable Changemakers", an initiative by The Human Safety Net for the 2024 Festival of Sustainable Development. This event featured interactive workshops and gamification activities, encouraging students to devise new strategies for social inclusion and sustainability.

The Students Challenge provided an inspiring platform for young talents to engage with complex global challenges and contribute to innovative and sustainable solutions for a shared future.
