Refugees pitching startup ideas for Perspektive Neustart

Refugees presented startup ideas as part of the "Perspektive Neustart—The Human Safety Net" business incubator project in Germany. The pitch event took place at the Passagekino in Saarbrücken, marking the end of the project's cohort journey. Over a ten-month period, the founders received support to develop their startup ideas into sustainable businesses.

Reza Haidari's Umwelfity, a project by an Afghan refugee with a background in the Ministry of Energy of Afghanistan, received extra seed funding. Umwelfity focuses on monitoring the energy source used by households or companies at any given time, and by using proprietary software connected to the Wi-Fi it can check for the availability of renewable energy.

The other business that won additional seed funding is The Blue Rabbit from Anne and Nathalia from Medellin in Colombia. The Blue Rabbit is a visual storytelling agency combining creative writing, traditional storytelling, and animation. The specificity of this young agency is that they focus on animation, motion graphics and comics for communicating the clients’ needs.
