With the "For Families" program, we want to support premature babies and their families, covering all three phases – before, during, and after birth. We cooperate with three NGO partners: Leontinka Foundation, SOS Children's Villages and Vita et Futura.
Since the beginning of 2020, the Human Safety Net in the Czech Republic has partnered with Nadace Leontinka (Leontinka Foundation) in fulfilling its mission to 'bring light' to the lives of visually impaired children, supporting both “For Families” and “For Newborns” programs. In cooperation with Nadace Leontinka, we have supported the early care social service provided to both families of premature newborns that require dedicated assistance right after birth, as well as to families of children with visual and combined disabilities up to the age of 6 years.
SOS Children's Villages is one of the oldest non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic. For more than 50 years, they have been helping children to grow up in a loving family environment. In eight regions across the country, they help annually more than 2.5 thousand children who are at risk of being removed from parental care, children in crises, who cannot stay in their own family for a short or long term, and also children who grow up with surrogate parents in foster care.
They enable children to grow up with the bonds they need to develop and become their strongest selves, and advocate for each child’s rights so that all children can grow up in a supportive environment. Our cooperation and support of this NGO’s partner began in 2023.
With Vita et Futura we support the maternity hospital U Apolináře in Prague with the supply of modern diagnostic equipment helping predict risk factors during pregnancy and delivery, to reduce the number and impact of long-lasting disabilities.
