NetWorks 3rd edition

The annual event connecting all The Human Safety Net community goes digital – but still creates deep connections

From March 23rd to 26th, partners, volunteers, The Human Safety Net team members and guests gathered virtually with NGOs and social enterprises from all over the world to share ideas and thoughts on how to drive impact and resilience, and contribute together to future developments.

Over 250 people took part in the summit, making it a record edition, including the number of NGOs represented – 53, active in 23 Countries.

The need to turn the event into a virtual meeting for safety reasons did not lessen its magic and power of inspiration.

“THSN NetWorks event again offered me a great moment of reflection and challenge”, said a participant, expressing a feeling shared by many through their social accounts. “Reflection on how we have succeeded in truly supporting the families we are working with, and changes, things that we could not imagine, are actually being implemented in all parts of the world”.

Emma Ursich, THSN Director, commented: “The Human Safety Net is a net of people helping people, and the real meaning of a net is exactly what we do in our annual meeting NetWorks: it’s meeting, it’s exchanging and it’s building for the future together”. This year this is all the more important, as we look to the future after the pandemic”.

The summit tackled many topics, from digitalization to isolation and social inclusion, getting people work in online boards and thematic rooms and much more – including the new home of The Human Safety Net in Venice, at the Procuratie Vecchie, currently undergoing renovation, and where all community members will hopefully be able to meet next year.
