I’m Dima. I’m from Homs in Syria. I’m 35 years old. I am an artist and an art educator.
I left Syria with my family when the war broke out. I’ve been in Saarbrücken for 3 years. I’ve already met a lot of people here in Germany and some of them become real good friends. I always wanted to start my own business. Now, I finally know how to do it. I’m going to open my own company here in Saarbrücken: “Couleurs de la vie”. I will offer creative lessons for children and young people, teaching them art, music, theatre and languages. To other refugees I want to say, “please always have confidence in yourself, no matter where you come from. Be active and use your potential. Don’t give up. And of course, learn German!”.
Dima is a Syrian refugee living in Germany. After joining our Program for Refugee Start-Ups run in partnership with FITT gGmbH, she is starting her own company: a painting school for children in Saarbrücken.
