For All

Venetians by choice

A series dedicated to all those who have chosen Venice as their home, expressing their talents and bringing value to this unique city. Each gathering around our oval table gives us the opportunity to get to know a unique, creative and passionate personality who has chosen the lagoon city as the place of their choice to cultivate and express their strengths, sharing them with others through art, music, literature, craftsmanship, social commitment and much more.

Values in Music

A music festival in collaboration with the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Music in Venice, which showcases the talent, passion and ability of the Conservatory's students to harmonise their strengths. From baroque music to jazz, from vocal ensembles to chamber music groups, once a month, on Sunday mornings, these young musicians overwhelm us with their energy, giving us moments of great music.

Venezia La Casa dell'altro

A much-loved event with Alberto Toso Fei and Laura Bumbalova, who take us on a journey of discovery through a Venice that has always been inclusive and attentive to the most vulnerable, often ahead of its time in this respect. With them, we venture into the maze of Venetian streets, listening to stories and legends, between past and present, between myth and place names. We start from representative places such as Campo San Lorenzo and then reach the Dalmatian School of Saints George and Tryphon, Calle degli Albanesi, the Church of the Pietà and finally arrive at the Procuratie in Piazza San Marco, The Home of The Human Safety Net, a contemporary example of a space open to the community, amplifying the values of inclusion and hospitality that are at the heart of The Human Safety Net's programmes.

Conferences and debates

Throughout the year, The Home of The Human Safety Net House hosts numerous conferences, debates and meetings open to the community. These are opportunities for sharing, participating, listening and also getting actively involved. Together, we celebrate important days dedicated to themes that are at the heart of The Human Safety Net's programmes, such as World Refugee Day and Children's Rights Day, which become opportunities for meeting and discussion. We have welcomed international organisations such as UNDP, IOM, Impact Europe, Porticus and UNHCR, which have presented data, shared projects and contributed to the global debate on social innovation issues. One of the main events each year, during the week of the Venice International Film Festival, is Lights! Camera! Impact! dedicated to cinema, which, with its narrative power, is able to tell impactful stories, raise questions and new awareness, and support the work in the field of those who are working to build a more inclusive world. Finally, once a year, in November, all The Human Safety Net's NGO partners and volunteers in the field gather here for Networks, our movement's major global summit: a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our achievements together and to map out strategies, trajectories and new projects.
