The Human Safety Net program for refugee entrepreneurs supports refugees in launching an entrepreneurial project.
Millions of refugees are forced to leave their countries every year. Many of them have the skills, passion and resilience to become entrepreneurs.
They are unfortunately faced with many obstacles when arriving in Luxembourg: language barrier, regulations and procedures different from their country of origin, loss of network, etc.
So many obstacles that do not allow them to create their businesses.
To meet this need, The Human Safety Net offers a specific program set up with an expert partner in the field of entrepreneurship and asylum: Microlux.
With this program, the Foundation intends to change people's views on refugee populations.
Thus, refugee entrepreneurs can follow a support program to help them acquire the skills necessary to create a business: development of the business plan, definition of the legal status of the company, commercial approach, etc.
Generali employees support entrepreneurs as volunteers, as coaches, trainer or buddies.
Coach
The coach helps the entrepreneur to challenge and develop their project over the long term.
Trainer
The trainer is involved in specific trainings that will boost the entrepreneurs’ business knowledge; this activitie is organized by the partners throughout the year.
Buddy
The buddy helps the new entrepreneurs with networking, finding new clients, and spreading the word about their businesses. This is a long-term volunteering commitment type.
