Haciendo Camino partners with JP Morgan to manage rapid growth of its programmes

The NGO has gained widespread recognition in the past year since its CEO Catalina Hornos was named as one of the 20 most influential people in Argentina by La Nación newspaper

Haciendo Camino, one of the Human Safety Net’s NGOs in Argentina, has established a new partnership with investment bank JP Morgan to manage the rapid growth in its programmes. Haciendo Camino has been supported by the Scale Up Impact initiative for the first edition 2020-2022. This multi-year strategy allows social innovations to be more widely adopted across geographies and target groups, by encouraging government adoption, commercialisation or knowledge transfer to other organisations.

The new partnership will help Haciendo Camino implement a human resources strategy and adopt new data systems. It forms part of JP Morgan’s ‘Force for Social Good’ programme, which uses in-house resources and technology skills to create sustainable solutions for non-profit organisations.

Rocio Marochi, Executive Director of Haciendo Camino, said: “We now have more than 150 employees in remote rural locations so we need a strategy that allows us to manage human resources more efficiently from our Head Office in Buenos Aires.”
Haciendo Camino, which is part of The Human Safety Net’s For Families programme, has gained widespread recognition in the past year since its CEO Catalina Hornos was named as one of the 20 most influential people in Argentina by La Nación newspaper. La Nación is also supporting Haciendo Camino with a fundraising campaign.

Catalina Hornos, who has led the NGO for 15 years, said: “I know I can’t change the statistics on poverty for Santiago del Estero and Chaco provinces, but I can change how some families are living and how they interact with their children.”

Haciendo Camino has 12 Early Childhood Development and Family Strengthening Centres in Santiago del Estero and Chaco, two of the poorest provinces in the country.
