Social Impact Report 2023

The Social Impact Report of The Human Safety Net provides a comprehensive view of all the activities and contributions made by our movement since 2017, with a focus on the achievements attained in 2023. Through this document you will discover who we are, what we do, and how we reach impact.

The Human Safety Net’s programmes support families in vulnerable circumstances with young children (0-6 years old) and integrate refugees into their host community through employment and entrepreneurship. We are an open network collaborating with NGOs and social enterprises that share our goals. In 2023, we extended our activities to Luxemburg and Chile, bringing the total number of countries to 26.

The Home of The Human Safety Net, located in St Mark’s square in Venice is a hub for social innovation, open to the public. The Home attracted more than 45.000 visitors and has hosted 150 events last year.

The Human Safety Net supports evidence-based activities, offering transformative journeys that are anchored in human relations and interaction. The Human Safety Net is driven by data. Behind every number there is rigorous monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) focused on measurable impact. We share within our network the knowledge and experiences gained over time to learn and improve the effectiveness of our programmes. This framework is essential for scaling up the global impact, the effectiveness and quality of specific projects.
